Game Description:
The Elder Dragons have awoken from their long slumber and walk Tyria once again. Continents are being reshaped as they corrupt the land and its people. The five great races of Tyria must stand together if this foe is to be beaten and the world saved. Together the heroes and champions of the Charr, Asura, Norn, Sylvari and Humans must unite as the last hope for Tyria.
Guild Wars 2 is developed by gaming company AreaNet, based out of Washington USA. This studio has a record of innovating online gaming and creating incredible RPG worlds with the original Guild Wars game, of which over seven million copies were sold. This first installment in the Guild Wars franchise has had several expansion packs released and continues to have a very active player base.
This second game to the franchise builds upon the lore of the first game and its expansion packs, making the world of Tyria richer and more dynamic than ever before. In Guild Wars 2 you are transported 250 years forward to a world very different than the world we've known.
AreaNet continues to redefine online role playing games with Guild Wars 2, breaking molds that have been long established for the genre. There are no subscription fees, something found with most online games. Combat is very action oriented, making for intense battles with a wide variety of enemies. Story line events have a very real effect on the world and its people, the landscape and its inhabitants remaining permanently changed by your decisions. Your story is customizable, making replay value incredibly high as you'll want to try out every character and class available.
Dynamic Events: Each of your actions has a very real, lasting effect on the fantasy world of Tyria. Events change based on how players react and what decisions they make. Defending a village overrun by enemies will lead to its saving while allowing the citizens to be slaughtered and homes burned results in the once thriving metropolitan area being nothing more than a small burned spot on the map.
Personal Stories: Your story beings right away as you create your character and their biography. Each choice in game evolves your story and your characters history. You get to decide who gets to live and die, what sort of path you will walk and the type of life you will lead. Every action, every choice has a consequence effecting both your personal story and your home instance.
Action Oriented Combat: The fun is coming back to fantasy combat with a brand new type of fast paced warfare. Move with attacking to get the best strikes as well as to dodge and roll enemy attacks. Teaming up with other players allows for massive and powerful combo attacks. Use the environment to its fullest by taking advantage of environmental weapons.
Sprawling Dungeons: Dungeons aren't for the inexperienced or faint of heart in Guild Wars 2. Find a group of hardened warriors and adventurers to explore massive dungeons filled with enemies and great rewards. There is a different plot for each dungeon while playing in story mode which then branches out into a free roaming incredibly challenging exploring mode.
Competitive PvP: Pit yourself against teams of players in PvP. Intense matches against fellow players leave only the most skilled standing. There are a many secondary objectives to battle over in a wide variety of maps and areas. Pick and name your own team for daily, weekly and annual PvP Tournaments.
No Subscription: Purchase Guild Wars 2 and play online for as long or short as you like with no additional subscription fees.
